Today we went to the museum.
We went on the bus.
We sat on the mosaic bench.
We made our own tapa cloth.
Then we went to the gallery.
Last we learned how to do a Samoan dance.
We had lots of fun.
Do you know how tapa cloth is made?

DeletePrivileged to have been a part of the Being Pacific Tapa Cloth lesson at the Museum with Room 14 and Mrs M Mill. I learnt how tapa cloth is made, absolutely a topic of interest.. Where/what the two coloured dyes came from.. How the patterns are made/appear on the cloth.. Who makes tapa cloth, male or female or both? Why Tapa Cloths are made. The gallery was colourful, like a giant flower in full bloom. I liked the painted plates, the hand painted designs and the different shaped plates and colours.. From different islands. The song and dance was fun a great ending to our lesson. Thank you.
